What are Butler Academy's objectives?

We offer WSET® Awards-accredited, WSET level 1, 2 and 3 wine training courses:

  • Acquire skills in wine and spirits evaluation.
  • Adapt and use these skills in the catering (sommelier), sales and promotion of these products.
  • Master the vocabulary of wine tasting and techniques.
  • Acquire knowledge of world wines and the art of tasting.
  • Master the rules of wine service and storage, and learn about food and wine pairing.
  • Read and understand a wine label.
  • Advise the management of different types of establishments, answer customers’ questions in full knowledge of the facts, and choose the right wines for different situations.

Frédéric V. : WSET Trainer

Currently studying for an MBA at ESCP Paris.
He is an entrepreneur, founder of a wine import company, author of ” Le vin pour ceux qui n’y connaissent rien ” a columnist for the specialized press, and a member of wine-tasting committees.
He teaches wine and spirits for the WSET with energy and conviviality.

Barnabé N. : WSET Trainer

Passionate about Japanese culture, this former restaurateur now devotes his time to promoting and distributing sake in Europe. He is the first French trainer to achieve WSET 3 certification in sake.

Sophie P. : WSET Trainer

With an MBA and WSET level 3 diploma, Sophie is a cellar manager.
Quadrilingual with a taste for traveling to wine-producing countries, his desire to pass on his passion for wine has led him to take on WSET training courses.

Annabelle M. : WSET Trainer

Dualist from the Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin in Bordeaux and WSET Level 4 graduate, she has been working as a winemaker, wine journalist, caviste, sommelier and wine and spirits trainer in France and Australia for the past 6 years.

HOW CAN I FINANCE MY TRAINING?

Depending on your situation, you can benefit from a number of different funding options for your training. All our training courses can be funded by OPCAs* as part of your company’s CPF* or skills development plan. As a job seeker, AIF* is a solution that works. At your request, we’ll take care of all the paperwork.

HOW ARE COURSES ORGANIZED?

An assessment at every stage

  • Upstream assessment of trainee and company needs, to define training content and duration. The trainee receives a questionnaire enabling the trainer to identify the level of each participant and thus adapt the content precisely.
  • Each session ends with a validation of the learning acquired, materialised by a certificate summarizing the objectives and learning acquired, and the in-house ‘Butler’ diploma for our ‘trade’ training courses.

Teaching resources tailored to training needs

  • Various multimedia supports (audio, video, etc.) are used to ensure perfect transmission and application of knowledge by trainees.
  • The support documents provided to participants in paper and electronic format enable them to use them as both a guide and a reference. These teaching tools are constantly updated to keep abreast of the latest developments.

An assessment of results

  • A satisfaction questionnaire is provided and then analyzed, to optimize all the parameters needed to adapt the teaching models used.
  • To assess the impact of on-the-job training on the company. a customer satisfaction questionnaire is sent out after training.

Our training programs are scalable and adaptable to each company situation. These are drawn up in collaboration with each establishment.

Tailor-made support and small training groups for personalized learning: courses are organized around a maximum of 4 to 10 trainees.
