The WSET EN SPIRITS Level 2 takes place over 2 full days and includes tasting of a number of spirits from around the world. Learn about spirits from the world’s greatest wine-growing regions, the factors influencing their quality and style, and production methods.
The training is a great help for staff starting out in a spirits store or hotel-restaurant.
We recommend a minimum of 30 hours of preparation beforehand.

module 1: Understanding the main production factors that determine the different types of spirits.
- Describe the main stages in the production of spirits.
- Indicate what the raw materials provide, and which carbohydrates need to be converted into sugar before fermentation.
- Explain the process of alcoholic fermentation and indicate what results.
- Name the objectives generally pursued by distillation and explain how they are achieved.
- Describe the various components of an iron still, the typical double distillation process involved and the type of spirits it produces.

Certification validation
- 50-question MCQ in 1 h
- 55% of answers must be correct to validate the diploma.
- Copies are sent and corrected in London.
Results are sent at least 4 weeks later by e-mail and the diploma by post.
Candidates who fail the exam can retake it at a later session, at an additional cost.

He teaches wine and spirits for the WSET with energy and conviviality.
