The WSET EN SPIRITS Level 1 takes place over 1 full day and includes tasting of a number of spirits from around the world. Learn about spirits from the world’s greatest wine-growing regions, the factors influencing their quality and style, and production methods.
The course is particularly useful for people who need to familiarize themselves with the main styles and categories of spirits, such as those working in retail or the hospitality sector.
We recommend a minimum of 7 hours preparation beforehand.

Certification validation
- MCQ of 30 questions in 45 min.
- 70% of answers must be correct to validate the diploma.
- The results are sent at least 4 weeks later by e-mail, and the diploma is sent by post. Candidates who fail the exam can retake it at a later session, at an additional cost.

Successful candidates will be familiar with the main categories of spirits, their characteristics, and the fundamental principles governing the creation of a balanced cocktail. They will then be able to respond to their customers’ requests, and advise them on the best way to serve spirits.
Graduates will be able to demonstrate their professional skills, particularly in bar service and for those working in retail and wholesale.
